Boarding at Wilmington Animal Hospital As a member of the The Pet Care Services Association (formerly known as ABKA or American Boarding Kennel Association), Wilmington Animal Hospital strives to meet the highest standards of boarding care. All of our guests are treated as we treat our own pets. We spoil them with premium pet foods, biscuits, chewies, and toys, and even prepare special diets brought from home. Our canine vacationers are walked daily in our secure play yard, and if staying for two or more nights, receive a complimentary bath (a $30 value!). Our feline guests enjoy spacious condos, a picture window with a view of bird feeders, and a variety of furniture to crawl on and nap in. Our boarding facility is part of our hospital, and as such is under the watchful eye of our skilled technicians and doctors in case your pet should become ill while boarding. To read "Kita " Groover's story, click here Boarding Requirements
Because we are a hospital first, boarding is a service reserved for our clients' pets. In keeping with our conservative vaccination policy, we require that your pet has had its annual exam, and one of our doctors has discussed the individualized vaccination recommendations for your pet. We do not require the kennel cough vaccination, and have very little if any problems with this condition. In most cases, unless exempt for medical reasons, rabies vaccination is required for our boarding guests. If your pet is not a patient at Wilmington Animal Hospital but you would like to board him/her with us, please call to schedule an examination.
